Mishka Kornai
Mishka Kornai is a director and artist working in film, advertising, and art projects, so his website needed to feel like a considered portfolio rather than a generic template. The goal was to bring together his work, synopses, credits, and videos on a single WordPress platform that would be easy to update as new projects appear.
Portfolio website for a film director, built in WordPress with a focus on clear presentation and long-term maintainability.

Project background title
Mishka Kornai is a director and artist working in film, advertising, and art projects, so his website needed to feel like a considered portfolio rather than a generic template. The goal was to bring together his work, synopses, credits, and videos on a single WordPress platform that would be easy to update as new projects appear.
The challenge
The client already had a visual design, so the main challenge was to carefully translate that design into a custom WordPress theme without losing any of the details or micro‑typography. The portfolio structure also had to be flexible: new films, music videos, or commercial projects with different sets of fields should be easy to add without breaking the overall layout.
What I worked on
- Development of a custom WordPress theme based on the client’s Figma / visual design, including templates for the homepage, portfolio archive, and single project pages built from scratch.
- Setup of custom post types and taxonomies for projects (films, commercials, music videos) so the client can manage the portfolio directly from the admin area.
- Front‑end implementation with a focus on strong typography, a clean layout, and emphasis on video and stills, including a responsive portfolio grid.
- Fully responsive layout for mobile, tablet, and desktop with correct display of videos, images, and credit lists.
- Integration of external video platforms (such as Vimeo / YouTube) into project pages with attention to performance and viewing experience.
- Performance tuning and basic SEO structure (headings, metadata, readable URLs) for portfolio projects.
The focus was not on experimental animation, but on making the director’s portfolio highly readable, visually clean, and straightforward to maintain.
Selected screens
In this project you can clearly see the portfolio archive with films, commercials, and art projects, as well as detailed project pages that combine video, stills, descriptions, and crew information. The homepage and portfolio views highlight large titles and minimal content blocks that help visitors quickly navigate Mishka Kornai’s work.

Support and continuous improvement
After launch, I continue to support the website: adding new projects, adjusting structure and content blocks, and updating WordPress and plugins when needed. This kind of long‑term collaboration allows the site to grow together with the director’s career and stay relevant without full redesigns.
